Day 1 Arrive in Kochi
Arrive this morning at Kochi International airport. You will be met by a representative outside the customs gate and escorted to your hotel. Upon arrival, check-in to your hotel.Remainder of the day will be at leisure for relaxation and independent activities.

Day 2 Kochi
This morning enjoy an orientation tour of the city.Explore the Fort Cochin area where you visit the old Jewish quarter. This includes a synagogue, one of the oldest in the world (Closed on Friday and Saturday). It was built in year 1568. Continue further to Dutch-built Mattancherry Palace (Closed on Friday),Portuguese Church of St Francis and the Chinese fishing nets sweeping above the water in the old town of Fort Cochin.

In the evening, witness a Kathakali performance, a classical dance-drama of Kerala.

Day 3 Kochi – Munnar
Early morning leave for Munnar (with packed breakfasts) covering a distance of 135 kms in approximately 4 hours.En-route, visit Kodanad Elephant Orphange. Located 85 kms/ approx 1 hrs 30 min away from Kochi, Kodanad is set on the southern banks of the Lake Periyar and amid the beautiful high ranges. It is an interesting place where about in total 11 elephants are taken care off.

Every morning around 0800 hrs in the morning, the mahouts take the elephants to nearby river body to give them a bath. The mahouts scrubbed their bodies with outer part of the Coconut. As Elephants are fond of water, they enjoy this exercise really well. Witness this fun activity!

Note: This activity is done in morning only (0730 – 0930 hrs) as afterwards the Elephants are taken on their normal routine work.

Afternoon arrive in Munnar and check in at your hotel.

Munnar is surrounded by about 30 tea estates, amongst the highest in the world and a forest that is still rich in wildlife. The luxuriant forest is hung with pepper vines and the hills around Munnar are covered with the rare Neelakurunji plant which flowers only once in every 12 years.

Later enjoy an orientation tour of the city. Drive past the local fruit and vegetable market where people throng daily for fruits, vegetables and other household goods. Visit the tea museum where you can witness the process of making Tea. Culminate the tour with a visit to a beautiful local church.

Day 4 Munnar – Periyar
Optional: Enjoy an early morning walk at the Tea GardenToday leave for Periyar – covering a distance of 160 kms in approximately 4 hours. Enjoy the scenic drive as you drive past beautiful small villages, tea estates and rubber plantations.

Afternoon arrive in Periyar and check in at your hotel.

Evening accompanied by a naturalist enjoy a walking trek inside Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary.

Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, the pride of Kerala and a testimony to nature’s splendor and human innovation is situated on the banks of the Periyar Lake – an artificial lake. Lying close to the plantations, in the rich jungles of Periyar in Thekkady, it is one of the world’s most fascinating natural wildlife reserves spread across 777 sq. km, of which 360 sq. km is thick evergreen forests.

Day 5 Periyar – Kumarakom
This morning drive to Kumarakom covering a distance of 130 kms in approximately 3 hours 15 min. En-route stop at Spice Plantation for a sumptuous lunch.Afternoon arrive in Kumarakom and check-in to your resort. Rest of the day will be at leisure to enjoy the waterfront.

Day 6 Kumarakom

Day 7 Kumarakom – Alleppey
Following a leisurely breakfast, embark on the traditional Rice barge (boat) for an overnight stay.Leisurely explore the Kerala backwaters from the comforts of your houseboat. Fringing the coast of Kerala and winding far inland is a vast network of lagoons, lakes, rivers and canals.

Enjoy a traditional lunch that will be served piping hot on board. Float through the placid waters passing palm fringed canals, lakes and villages. Dinner will be served on board.

Day 8 Alleppey – Kochi – Mumbai
Early morning disembark from your comforts of the house boat and transfer to Kochi airport for flight to Mumbai, India’s financial powerhouse, its vogue centre of fashion, film and glamour.Meet & greet on arrival and check in to your hotel.

This afternoon leave for an orientation tour of the city. Begin with a photo-stop at the Gateway of India, the principal landmark of Mumbai. Continue to Prince of Whales Museum (Closed on Monday) . Drive past other major landmarks – Victoria Terminus. The first train to steam out of Mumbai was from here to Thane in 1853. Your next stop will be “Dhobhi Ghat” – a unique outdoor laundry. Culminate the tour at Mani Bhawan, a small museum dedicated to the life and works of Mahatma Gandhi.

Day 9 Mumbai
Today morning leave for an excursion to Elephanta Caves – a UNESCO World Heritage site (Closed on Monday and during monsoons) by motorized boats. Located across the sea from the Gateway of India are the rock-cut cave temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. Little is known about their origins is believed to be created between 450 and 750 AD.Remainder of the afternoon will be at leisure.

Day 10 Depart Mumbai
Today a representative will escort you to Mumbai International airport for your flight to onward destination.
