DAY 1 ARRIVE DELHI

Arrive in Delhi, the capital city of India. Transfer to your hotel.

  DAY 2 DELHI 

Spend the day discovering the heritage of Delhi. Morning tour of Old Delhi. Visit the 400-years-old Jama Mosque, the largest in India, followed by a cycle rickshaw ride through the teeming bazaar. Continue to Red Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

In the afternoon drive through the Lutyens’ Delhi, Rashtrapati Bhawan, the President’s Palace and India Gate, a war memorial arch built in honour of Indian soldiers who lost their lives in World War –I. Explore the famed Humayun’s Tomb, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and culminate the tour at Qutab Minar, a UNESCO World Heritage Site- the tallest brick minaret in the world, at 238 feet (72m).

DAY 3 DELHI – VARANASI 

This morning transfer to domestic airport for flight to Varanasi, one of the oldest living cities in the world.

Assistance on arrival and transfer to your hotel.

Afternoon enjoy an excursion to Sarnath where Lord Buddha had preached his first sermon. Also visit the archeological museum* at Sarnath. *Closed on Friday.

Time permitting experience a special meeting with monks and take part in a Buddhist meditation session.

 DAY 4 VARANASI 

AM: at dawn take a boat ride on the Ganges – an incredible sight, when thousands of pilgrims bathe in the spiritually cleansing waters.

Return to the hotel for breakfast.

Later enjoy a guided walk of the city including a short visit to Benaras Hindu University & Bharat Mata Temple. Visit the silk looms of Benaras and a bead factory nearby.

Evening visit the ghats (hundreds of stone steps flanking the riverbank) to witness a special Hindu ‘aarti’ prayer ceremony by the Ganges River.

DAY 5 VARANASI – KHAJURAHO 

This morning transfer to airport for your flight to Khajuraho, the great temple town

Late afternoon enjoy a visit to Western group of temples – a UNESCO World heritage site.

DAY 6 KHAJURAHO – ORCHHA – JHANSI – AGRA 

This morning briefly visit Eastern Group of temples.

Later drive to Orchha (covering a distance of 170 Kms in approx 4½ hours). En-route, visit Orchha Fort a 16th century architectural site on the banks of the beautiful Betwa river. Embark on a delightful “painting” walking tour of this picturesque site with its ancient Palaces and temples dotting the landscape on both sides of the Betwa River.

Evening transfer to Jhansi railway station for your onward train to Agra

Shatabdi Express – 17:55 / 20:25 hours

Arrive in Agra and transfer to your hotel.

 DAY 7 AGRA 

Leave for a sunrise visit to Taj Mahal – the greatest monument of love on earth (a UNESCO World heritage site) – Taj Mahal remains closed on Friday. Enjoy a transfer to the monument on horse driven carriages – Tongas.

Return to hotel for breakfast.

Later visit Agra Fort – a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Remainder of the afternoon will be at leisure.

Optional: enjoy a shopping experience in the Mughal city followed by a visit to local Marble Inlay workshop.

DAY 8 AGRA – BHARATPUR – RANTHMABORE 

This morning transfer to Bharatpur railway station. En- route a visit to Emperor Akbar’s capital city – Fatehpur Sikri – a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is unmissable.

Transfer to railway station for your onward train to Ranthambore

Jan Shatabdi Express – 15:55 / 18:10 hours

Close to the town of Sawai Madhopur lies the Ranthambore National Park which was at the forefront of Project Tiger. The park covers approximately 400sq km of rolling hills, grassland, bush and woods, rivers and lakes and is very picturesque. The landscape is accentuated by the many ruins of palaces and forts of this once royal hunting reserve. The national park boasts of rich variety of s large numbers of Sambar, Chital, and Nilgai. You may also see Chinkara, Mongoose and Monitor Lizards. However, it is the larger predators that are so compelling. These include Leopards, Hyenas, Jackals, Caracal, Sloth Bear, Marsh Crocodile and of course the Tiger, for which the park is famous.

   DAY 9 RANTHAMBORE 

Morning & afternoon game safari at Ranthambore national park traveling in shared canters (large safari vehicle).

  DAY 10 RANTHAMBORE – JAIPUR 

Morning game safari at Ranthambore national park traveling in shared canters (large safari vehicle).

Rest to hotel for breakfast.

Later drive to Jaipur, covering a distance of 160 Kms in approx 4 hours.

Afternoon arrive in Jaipur and check-in to your hotel.

Post lunch, visit the Jantar Mantar Observatory, built in the 1700s but still appears futuristic. Also visit the City Palace that houses the Maharaja’s private collection of textiles and armory. Culminate the tour with a photo stop at Hawa Mahalfondly called the ‘Palace of Winds’.

DAY 11 JAIPUR 

Morning, enjoy sightseeing tour of Jaipur, the abode of the rajahs. Enjoy an excursion to the magnificent Amber Fort, the ancient citadel of the Kachhawa clan. Ascent the fort riding on a 10 feet Elephant!

Remainder of the afternoon will be at leisure for independent activities/ spa etc.

Optional: shopping tour of the Pink city

 DAY 12 JAIPUR – DELHI 

Morning will be at leisure. Later transfer to Delhi, covering a distance of 250 Kms in approx 5 hrs.

Assistance on arrival and check in to your hotel where rooms will be available till your final departure.

Late evening a Hi-Tours airport representative will escort you back to Delhi international airport and assist in completing your departure formalities.
